Day 62
There have been fisherman on the ice, having some success although the DNR reports the ice is not safe. If your going out be sure to let someone know where you are going and when you will return.
The only report I've heard, so far, is 3 inches of ice and slush and that was before we had an average of 35 degree highs and lows for the past three days. The temperature is suppose to drop tonight. So that should help thicken the ice.
We are having a winter storm warning calling for 4-8 inches of snow between 7 pm tonight and 7 pm Sunday night. It should give us more ice n the lake.
I drove past the Houghton Lake Playhouse tonight and the elections are in full swing. The parking lot was full. Previously the TUT elections were held at the Houghton Lake high school. They changed this year so they could have the "After Party" to help fund TUT, as it get's more expensive each year.
If you can't make it to the elections tonight but you want to help TUT there's another fund raiser next Saturday, January 16th at Shenanigans on M-55. See tomorrows blog entry for more info.
Until tomorrow,
Ken
